If it seems that you may have to clear out your bank account to buy a new flat screen LCD or Plasma TV, it could be time to look at local options. One company with a specifically South African approach is Sonic, which assembles and distributes its line of CRT, LCD and plasma TVs from its Cape Town facility, with offices in Gauteng, and Durban.
Justin Smithers, Sonic marketing director, says that to ensure quality standards are maintained, the company only sources the highest-quality components from reliable and leading overseas manufacturers such as Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Hitachi and Philips.
