In-line with the release of our new product ranges and recent trends in design and technology, we decided to launch an all new website with increased functionality. The Sonic Johannesburg Office has relocated to Unit 6 Midline Business Park, Cnr Richards & Le Roux, Midrand in order to incoporate warehousing and manufacturing facilities as a result of the overwhelming growth in demand for our products and to provide more timely and efficient delivery and service to our customer base.

The result is that the Sonic brand will be acquired into a new group named MyApp which is short for My Appliances (Pty) Ltd. This is effective from 1 July 2007 and represents the beginning of a new era for Sonic South Africa!

We look forward to bringing these exciting developments to the market and I am sure you will begin to see immediate benefits which include, amongst others, new and innovative products coupled with very competitive pricing.

Also, be sure to look out for our new warehouse and manufacturing facility launching in Johannesburg soon and the launch of our new product ranges.

We participated in the design for living show between April 22nd and May 1st which proved to be a great success! The general consumer feedback on our product quality, professionalism and display was overwhelming.

In line with the positive changes occurring within Sonic, we recently up-graded our show room and would love for you to pay us a visit when in Cape Town. A similar showroom will be launched in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Durban in the near future.

We intend on hosting reseller functions within these facilities to discuss new product developments and the history and essence of our brand.

New look HD Plasma
In line with international trends and ongoing investigations into consumer preferences, Sonic has re-designed the 42" High Definition Plasma, making it available in an all-black finish. The response to this model has been overwhelming and the product continues to fly off the shelves.

Sonic HDMI DVD Player
Look out for the new Sonic HDMI DVD Player and Home Theatre System launching soon. This product is expected to be available in June, providing a stylishly designed high definition HDMI DVD player that is available with the option of a home theatre system including a 5 speaker system and impressive sub woofer.

Following the initial successes of Sonic in South Africa and continued development in the audiovisual industry, a new CEO has been appointed to take Sonic South Africa to the next level.

The criteria for the appointment were to select a cand-idate with full retail, distribution and manufacturing experience but also someone exemplifying Sonic's core qualities innovation and dynamism.

Cuan Chelin (BCOMPT [cum laude], BCOM Honours [cum laude]) qualified as a Chartered Accountant and enrolled with the internationally acclaimed Edinburgh Business School's MBA program. At the same time, however, he was also acquiring nearly a decade's worth of business experience. He has headed up a consultancy division on business growth strategy, as well as serving as CEO of the HOUSE of PAINT, a retail chain of 25 stores across South Africa. He has acted on the Executive Committee of Chemspec, a prominent South African business involved in international and local distribution as well as manufacturing. No doubt a perfect fit for Sonic!
